Is VMGate Cloud a trial?
No. The free tier is ongoing at defined limits — not a time-limited trial.
What does beta mean?
VMGate Cloud is in public beta. Features and limits may evolve. Scope and support are described in the portal and in your agreement.
When should I choose Classic?
If you have one phone (or a few) and want the handset to register directly to your softswitch via SIP, use VMGate Classic.
When should I choose Cloud?
If you run a fleet, need tenant-style operations (customers, routing, billing), or want cloud orchestration, use VMGate Cloud.
Can I get free Classic licenses?
No. Free Classic licenses are no longer offered. Use the Cloud free tier to explore, or request a Classic license at $99/device.
Where do I sign up?
Cloud: portal.vmgate.cloud. Classic: license request form on this site.
Which portal do I use?
Cloud tenants use portal.vmgate.cloud. Classic license management uses customer-vmgate.startelinternational.com — do not mix them.
Portal languages?
The tenant portal supports seven languages. This marketing website is English only.
VMGateClient multi-profile?
Yes. The app supports multiple profiles on one phone — separate VMGate network connections you can add and switch without reinstalling. See VMGateClient features and Cloud overview.
Is SMS outbound live on VMGate Cloud?
Yes. SMS outbound is live. Send SMS through your existing VMGateClient fleets from the tenant portal (Connections, rates, routing, history). Connect your switch with an SMS connection (SMPP) when your plan includes SMS. See Cloud overview — SMS outbound.
Voice or Voice + SMS — what is the difference?
Paid Cloud plans let you choose Voice or Voice + SMS under Subscription. Prices are on Plans and in the portal catalog. Free tier is $0 for both options at free-tier limits.
Does SMS need the USB audio dongle?
No. SMS outbound uses the SIM path. The USB audio dongle is for voice / GSM audio.
